Hi All,

Over the last couple of months many of you have ordered my film "Hay Bales
and Asphalt". Several of you have written very kind words both to me
directly and to the list. I have struggled with how to respond without
patting myself on the back or commercializing our hobby (or this list).

This is not a commercial, it is a thank you letter.

My original goal was to save a garbage bag full of 16mm images that would
help preserve the heritages that make our old cars so special. I wanted to
see the great drivers in their prime and legendary tracks that have since
succumbed to condominiums and strip malls. I expected that merely saving
these images would be my reward.

Well, the greatest reward has been the kinds words written and spoken about
this project. The encouragement from people like yourself has inspired and
motivated me. With this encouragement, I've purchase some equipment to
make the restoration and editing of another film possible. Meanwhile,
authors, experts, and owners of old cans of film have contacted me offering
help and more images. I've had some wonderful conversations with people I
never would have met- many from this list.

To say the least, "Hay Bales and Asphalt" has led me in directions I never
would have expected.

Best of all, every time I answer the phone (or an e-mail) and the caller
says, "Is this where I buy the video...", I know that I'm speaking with
someone with common interests (something I don't expect with my corporate
job). And many times the caller has experienced things that I can only
relish on old film.

Thank you for the support.

Thank you for the bandwidth.

Happy Holidays.

Clark
