Prewarriors:

I know the general history of the Austin 7, and the 750 club race specials. At
the Carlisle autojumble, there was an Aluminium bodied Austin 750 Special for
sale. No know history, out of action for at least 15-25 years. (Was in the
corner of a museum for a while)

It had about a 27-28 chassis & rear end, with a later (35?) engine. Round
tail, and large round radiator opening, cycle fenders. (Sorry, I forgot my
camera :-( ) It was mostly complete, but in need of having everything done.

This car really caught my eye. It's definitly a sort of car I'd like to have
for prewar vintage racing- simple, somewhat affordable, and not too fast for
it's own good... The drivers compartment is a bit short for me (6 foot), so
I'd have to cut back the rear deck a bit, and add a roll bar...

The current owner was even having second thoughts as he learned more from one
of the more knowledgable US Austin specialists who was there.

Does anyone out there have any idea of the value of such a beast, either
unrestored, or in decent nick?
