I think you're right, and I _suspect_ that it was the same block (hence my
original question posted to the list). The 289 was just bored out a bit???
The particular car that I have seen is certainly a ford engine (it says
so, on the valve covers "Made in U.S.A. by Ford for Sunbeam" or some such
verbiage). I am trying to find out if this car is for sale. It gives the
appearance of an abandoned restoration project, parked in the driveway of a
house recently sold to new folks. Might the new owner just want to get rid
of it??? Hope springs eternal.
A big concern is to what extent the car has been exposed to the elements.
The car is currently out of doors, lacks a carb, and has a rather rusty
intake manifold. Worst case scenario includes lots of rust in the
cumbustion chambers! Important question: does the engine turn over? More
later...
