As Andy Mace wrote, the fitting of electric fuel pumps was almost certainly for
competition use only. The Lucas fuel pump used on the injection cars would have
been quite unsuitable as it ran at around 150psi - far too much for a carbed
engine. I do know that Experimental played around with electric pumps on other
European rally cars but these were usually SU pumps (now known as Burlein Fuel
Systems) as found on Sprites/Midgets and MGBs. I further recall these pumps
were fitted with a pressure restrictor as they operated in parallel, meaning
the failure of one meant the other could continue.
