[TR] TR4A - Fitting pull cables

Listers,

What is the best way to fit our push/pull cables on the water valve, vent flap
and choke?
Is it possible for the cable to be too long?

I've attached mine for the water valve many times, in trial and error, and
still cannot get enough stiffness on the push to close the valve.
