Roller rockers are quieter but a certain amount of tappet noise is to be
expected from a TR engine, especially when compared to a modern vehicle.
TR engines are a solid tappet design, whereas most modern vehicles that use
tappets utilize some form of hydraulic dampening to eliminate the noise and
the need for frequent valve adjustments.
