About two decades ago my Datsun 510 died once from lack of spark.
The outside of the dizzy had a spade connector for the lead to the
coil. The connector was held in place by a screw going through the
dizzy body to the points wire. Low tension voltage was detectable by
voltmeter on the lead from the coil but not on the points wire. The
contact between screw and connector was so corroded that no electrons
got through. It didn't look corroded or rusty though. A thorough
cleaning made everything okay again.
