FW: [TR] new loom Q

Hate to say this John, but it sounds like you have the wrong loom for your car.
The later cars had the 3 wires to the wiper motor; the "extra" green wire is for
the self-parking feature.  I'm guessing that's also why the harness won't reach
to the motor.

As I recall, the extra ring terminal goes under one of the bolts for the
regulator.
