Hello,

One can put a capacitor inline to smooth out the voltage fluctuations.  If my 
memory serves me correctly, I used two 2,000 microFarad capacitors in parallel 
for a total of 4,000 microFarads.  This was probably overkill, but was 
available for the job at hand.
