In my non-TR cars, I've been using Mobil 1 for 25 years and always ran it
between 7,000 and 10,000 miles before changing. My TR drips too much to use
Mobil 1, so I use Rotella T synthetic in it. I keep it in for 5,000 miles
or a season.
I note the new Advanced SuperSyn Mobil 1 that appeared late last year comes
with a 15,000 mileage statement on the bottle. The very first generation of
Mobil 1 on the early 80's had a 20,000 mile warranty. If you use Mobil 1,
IMHO it makes little economic sense (materials and your time) to change it
more frequently than 8,000 miles or so.
