I used to dream of hydraulic lifters for the TR6. Never heard of them
being offered though. Wouldn't it be nice to avoid that old castanets
sound...

The only way to get the tap out is to go to hydraulic lifters. If you
adjust the tap all the way out you will probably burn a valve as it
won't be
closing completely. Yes, it is a native sound for all solid lifter
motors.

Last weekend I adjusted the gap on my valves on the TR4. Got it all
done...new gasket, etc. I still have a slight tap. Is this a native
sound
for the TRactor motor to have a slight tap, or can I probably get a
finer
adjustment, maybe with a shield around the rockers and the engine
running..
(rodeo style)?
