Hello, everyone.
Do pardon me for this question. I did comb the archives.
Thanks to some recent questions on the List, I re-examined my flywheel: it's
a bolt-on. And I re-examined my starter: it's a bullet-nosed, enclosed drive
gear. ...So whoops, the previous owner must have replaced one or ther other,
but didn't match them up. Dave at TRF confirmed that the number of teeth on
the bolt on flywheel match the later starter. I'll have to source a later
starter. ...To bad I'd already rebuilt, but may never get to use, my bullet
nose starter.
Anyway, question: I've replaced the transmission with a Type A overdrive.
ISR it has a rounded bendix cover. The 4 speed that came out of the car has a
bendix cover with a "flat" on the back, rather than curve.
If I get a later astarter, am I going to have to cut one of those holes to
accommodate the bendix?
Thanks, everyone.
