List,
Didn't get a chance to get over to my machinist tonight like I planned. The
remnants of hurricane Katrina came through here today and there were
accidents everywhere due to slick roads. Hopefully, I can get that resolved
tomorrow evening..
I do have one more task to solve that maybe someone can help me with. I need
a source for new washers for the 3 small bolts that hold the cam bearings
stationary. My TR4A spare parts catalog says they are P/N WP0107. Looking
that up in my copy of the Standard Triumph Hardware Catalog, they in the
"Washer, Plain, Light" section and have an ID of 5/16" and an OD of 3/8". My
question is what is the thickness and the material? Does anybody have access
to these washers in a parts bin somewhere or on that spare engine that they
can measure one and email me with the thickness and what the material would
likely be? I can pick some up at MMC once I get that info. I just don't want
the screw point to hit the cam because I picked a washer too thin. I kind of
suspect the washers are copper because the 3 larger bolts that plug the oil
gallery have copper washers under them.
Thanks,
Dave Connitt
