  Being the same Mark Macy who wrote the aforementioned article on the MVT web 
site (also on my own web site www.macysgarage.com) I'll address the TR4/4A 
carpets which were not mentioned in my previous tech article.  According to the 
TRA TR4/4A Judging Standards and Restoration Guidelines (available from Lou 
Metelko), TR4's had charcoal gray NYLON loop carpet and rubber mats in the 
footwells.  For TR4A's, the rubber footwell mat was replaced with a padded 
carpet piece, and the carpet material was now a more plush Wilton wool in 
black, red, or midnight blue to match the interior trim color.  I don't know 
whether Bruce Clough was influenced by TRF advertising material when this 
guideline was written, but in the absence of any more definitive information 
this is the accepted standard.  Hope this helps.
