Hmmm.  Yes, they can be rebuilt. ...But I think it takes someone with 
skinnier fingers and better eyes than mine.  Reason is, when the copper coil 
posts come out, they are connected by gossamer copper threads that, tried as 
I did, I couldn't keep from breaking.  On top of having to adjust the posts, 
I'd have to solder the tiny wires back together.  Problem is, I really 
didn't need to take the thing apart at all!
