I'm with Steve, I'd rather "see" the problem and be able to react. I'm sure my
TR isn't the safest car on the road. We could all stay home in padded rooms
and be safe, but I'd rather take a few educated risk and enjoy life. My life
insurance doesn't cover me in a small plane, but I love flying them. We just
have to be comfortable with the amount of risk we take. On a side note: In
1993 Readers Digest had an article about how our cars should be heavier to be
safer. I wrote the editor with the following: "In this article he tells of a
Honda, and Lincoln in a head-on collision in which all the people in the
"light" Honda were either killed or seriously injured. I doesn't take a rocket
scientist to figure out that in a head-on collision, the heavier car wins. If
the Lincoln had run head-on into a fully loaded semi, what would happen? With
Mr. Levine's logic, we should all drive fully loaded semi's." End of my
