We used a barrier cream at our shops that was in an aerosol can, had a
pleasing scent and did a real good job. Barrier cream is great if your
hands are in a steady stream of used oil all day (known to the State of
California to contain carcinogens). I like nitrile gloves for really
filthy jobs, never latex or poly. Mechanix's gloves are ok if it's really
cold (like in Ohio, or so it seems).
