Same here, I sprayed them every day for 2 months with liquid wrench and all
it did was make a mess of the side of the car.
First I bought 4 new screws so I could see how big a screw I was dealing
with.
I got one off by getting the biggest screwdriver that would fit and giving
the end of it a good hard whack with a hammer, that unfroze it enough to
turn.
Then I used a drill with a bit that was a smaller then the body of the screw
so as not to damage the stanchions, the plan was to drill a whole big enough
for an easy out. That worked for 2 of them, the last one I just drilled the
head right off.
Once the stanchions are off you've got lots of screw body left to get a pair
of vice grips on super tight, that was enough leverage for me.
PS I kept the old headless screws in place during sanding etc.. to protect
the nuts.
