But you can also (I seem to recall) get at those front bolts from above, if your tranny tunnel has the original large hole meant to provide access for lubing the U joint (filled with a large rubber plug). The ABS/fibreglass covers usually don't have this hole - you have to cut it yourself. < When I had the original 71 frame under my TR6 I pulled the driveshaft totally from underneath. I could undo the bolts at both ends and pulled it out from the transmission end. I did this at the VTR in Ft. Mitchel, KY when I had to change a U-joint.
