When I had the original 71 frame under my TR6 I pulled the driveshaft
totally from underneath.  I could undo the bolts at both ends and pulled it
out from the transmission end.  I did this at the VTR in Ft. Mitchel, KY
when I had to change a U-joint.  The 73 frame and mount blocks access to
the front flange.
