to simplify wiring I made the ground side switchable and ran one wire to 
a SPST toggle switch with the other terminal grounded to the switch body...

It works and that is a fairly beefy portion of the harness.  Anyway, I 
can run the fan and honk the horns w/o blowing a fuse.

I have had no problems, but use your own judgement whether this is a 
good idea or not.
