I need to get a new set tires for my TR4 '64. The tires on their currently,
from the original owner, so this is a first for me in this unchartered
territory. Since there are so many folks in this forum, who are a fountain of
knowledge, thought I post this. I drive the TR on a regular basis, not every
day, since I walk to work, but still consider it a daily driver. Since
February I have put on 5,000 miles if that helps as an indicator.
Of note, what caused all of this too, was a flat tire the other day. Stupid
me, who checks tires regularly, neglected the spare, and it was flat too, good
thing AAA was there. Of note, took the flat in to get fixed at Les Schwab (a
major tire company in the western U.S.) and where the original owner purchased
the tires. Thought I would have them rotate and balance the tires too. They
refused, stated due to liabilty problems, they will not touch a car with knock
hubs. Has anyone experienced this?
