I rebuilt the master cylinders with a rebuild kit and of course there's one
for the wheel cylinders but I've never heard of one for the reservoir.

Art,
I'd err on the side of caution and rebuild with a new kit. You don't
want to skimp on anything as critical as your brakes.

Subject: Wanted: brake fluid safe sealant
Hi,
When tracing a leak from my brake reservoir I noticed the fitting
between
the inner and outer can was loose (TR3A link to pic below). I took it
apart
to clean it and found the rubber seal between the cans was badly
deteriorated.
I can probably make a new gasket out of blank rubber but I'll probably
get a
better seal with some sort of gasket-in-a-tube, I'm running DOT5
silicone
fluid so would a silicone based compound be safe?
