My local library keeps magazines for 2 years then discards. I have gotten to
the front of teh line to get HotRod and R&T. I have a new inspiration.
Hot Rod now touts the new trend of "Rat Rods" - often primered, period
correct, driven daily and celebrated for their individuality and fun.

Looking at my TR3a - which is sporting 20 year old paint, dings and nicks,
tired interior and some period correct Bondurant and VTR stickers.
I have decided I really like the look - and its ease of ownership. If I get
doored - which happens often - no really big deal. I had one of my soccer
kids stare so hard at the car that he ran into the front of it - he was fine,
and so was I.

I now propose a new category for those like me - "Rat Roadsters". Seriouisly
mechanically sound - with modernazations as logical and sensical, with that
period corect used look. A badge we can wear with pride versus feeling like
we should restore shine and polish. Not a "Diamond in the Rough" as often is
a show category - but a choice. Anyone else interested in the club? We could
get some decals and bond over beer!

Oops - 70degrees out - need to go home and get the TR3 at lunch!
