The guidelines are published and available to anyone who asks.  Most guys
know the shortcomings of his/her car, the only questions are 1) will the
judges find them all and 2) how harsh will they be.  The best way to learn
the mindset of the VTR judges is to become a judge yourself.

Another important point that seems to be missed is this is not professional
concours judging.  There is no budget for that.  The judges are volunteers
who happen to know the cars rather well.  Every effort is made to keep
judging consistant within a class.  Comparing scores from one class to
another has little meaning since different judges were involved.  Comparing
scores from one year to another also has little meaning since different
judges are involved.  So getting feedback from your judges this year is of
diminished value since different eyes will be looking at your car next time
and these eyes may not care about what you fixed from last year but may
very well care about something the judge from this year didn't catch.
