Hi folks,
Just to confirm - this fan cannot be fitted until the radiator is removed, even
loosening the rad and pushing it back as far as it would go.
Convincing myself I was halfway there anyway, I went ahead and removed the
apron. Yea! Are you proud of me?
It was a lot easier than I thought - no rusted in bolts or anything like that.
Needless to say, I'm taking the rad downtown tomorrow to have it "boiled out".
I was hoping to fit a "tropical fan" but the one I was looking at on Ebay went
for $200. Wow.
At least this yellow plastic one will not need balancing. I'll have to fit it
backwards and so it will not be scooping up the air but I think it is better
than nothing. I have a 12" (I think) electric pusher fan but the car is still
overheating - I'm hoping putting an engine fan in there will help dissipate the
heat in the engine bay when the electric one is not operating.
Anyways, taking the apron has the major benefit off exposing areas of the car
I've never seen before. See my next post on "Tie rods".
Will post again on the cooling problem when its all put back together again!
