Ah, yes, of course.  Silly me.  The PDWA is merely a grounding 
switch.  Now I remember the details.  My GT6 came to me with a thrown 
PDWA so the DPO had pulled the bulb rather than the PDWA wire.  In 
this condition the oil light didn't work, either with or without the 
bulb.  The short-term fix was to pull the wire and replace the bulb, 
but the long-term fix was to re-center the PDWA, a straightforward 
task.  It's strange how the memory can twist things sometimes, 
especially after a few beers on a sunny afternoon.
