I'm no TR5 expert, but it seems unlikely to me that Wayne would be
advertising a fake as real, if he knew that's what it was. The commission
number is that of a TR5. Faking a Vehicle Identification Number is a felony
in California, and he could hardly hope that a fake would go undetected
forever.
The engine block appears to be from a later PI TR6, late 1973, according to
Piggott.
