The fact that they are filled in does not mean that it is not a "rust free
beauty". Could have been a painters folly. I would have questions, but this
points out the one problem of buying long distance - whether it be through
eBay, VTR ads, or some other sources - Nothing, make that NOTHING is as
important as an in person inspection prior to purchase or at least transfer of
ownership. I got burned one time and never again. If you are serious about
purchasing a car (other than a basket case or parts car) then to shell out the
$500 to fly in to inspect (& purchase) is money well spent. Another option is
to have someone you can really count on to inspect the car for you or to pay
for an inspection service to view the vehicle in your stead.
