As part of an engine compartment restoration, I switched to silicone for both my brakes and clutch. I had rebuilt the brake master cylinder and the clutch slave cylinder. After allowing the old brake fluid to gravity drain out, I filled the reservoir with DOT 5 and bled the brakes in the usual manner, ensuring that what was coming out was purple colored DOT 5. No problems whatsoever - none. Bob Fabie '75 TR6 /// triumphs@autox.team.net mailing list /// or try http://www.team.net/cgi-bin/majorcool /// Archives at http://www.team.net/archive |
