I used a Gates TR 24379. Works well and fits original water pump
pulley.

Subject: 3a w/Delco alternator belt length?
I have mounted a 7127 alternator to my 3a, but the two nearest belt sizes
appear to be too small, and too big.
They are 38 1/2" and 40 5/8" (wide belt, using generator pulley on
alternator).
If I make up a longer adjuster arm to accomodate the longer belt, will
there be room in the engine compartment? (engine is out of the car right
now).
Or is there in fact an in-between length that I should hunt down? These two
belts are Gates, which is the commonly available brand around here.
