Understand that I'm real edgy about damaging the rear wings that are
in fine condition after all these years, but I can't get them off the
car! At great cost to my knuckles and patience all of the bolts have
been removed, but what I suspect is some sort of sealer has them
firmly attached to the pillars. I'm not sure how much force I can
apply before bending starts happening. Is there a trick - solvent
that will turn this stuff to jelly - heat, maybe? Any and all advice
is always appreciated.

Thanks to all who responded. The more I learn about this thing, the
more I realize I don't know. All of the bolts were removed, but after
chipping away a lot of undercoating I discovered, in addition to the
bolts, someone had done a little welding. Several knuckles later and
a few words about the previous owner, both wings are off and we move
on to the next step.
Thanks again. This list is a great asset - doubtless you'll hear from me again.
