>>Funny you should ask, Just now got back from delivering my TR-6 seats
along
with new leather seat covers and foam kit purchased from moss to a trusted
upholsterer. His first comment was to the effect that the colored foam
portions of the kit were cheap, cheap, cheap quality packing foam. Which he
said would soon compress in use and stay compressed, He allowed that the
white foam portions were of good quality. I told him if he could improve on
the iffy pieces he should do so. Take it for what it's worth. Peter, you out
there any comments? I trust my man because he did the entire interior of my
85 XJ-6, new seat leather all around, new headliner etc. Great installation
job, looked even better than original and wore great until the near fatal
accident that was the end of that Jaguar. YRMV.>>

Since you asked....
These are made to spec by a foam manufacturer in England for Moss Europe and
we get them from them. Not sure about which are the colored pieces. I know
I used our foam set in my '71 TR6 and they worked fine. I know some of the
skirting pieces are real thin and are just for smoothing out the vinyl over
the frame, but the main seat pieces fit well and pulled into the proper
shape. Still look great after about 6 years. Others on the list who know
my car (you can also see interior shots and the seat itself isolated in the
Moss catalog - white car, new tan seats) will, I'm sure, attest to the fact
they do look good and my wife will tell you they are comfortable. I will
pass your comments along to R&D to see if anything has changed, but I don't
think they have. Of the 164 we sold last year, only one came back because
it wasn't liked. We did get some returns because we got a batch that had
been packaged incorrectly - two right sides. But those were traded for
correct ones, or correct pieces were sent out.
Hope it works OK for you...
