attempting to repair the fasd choke on the zs 175 carb. told by p.o. choke
was 'disconnected'. on inspection found that someone stuck a nail in the
choke under the black cover to hold it off. found the reason for that is
the linkage is binding inside between the two arms that pull choke on and
push choke off. one arm connects to the thermal unit, the other arm
connects to what appears to be an accelerator pump. i hope someone can tell
me why this linkage is binding and how to unbind it !!! i took it apart
numerous times, tried to straighten the arms as best as can be, line things
up nicely. each arm, on its own returns, but when the two are interplaying
as they are designed, it hangs on returning to the no choke position. that
is the accelerator pump arm does not come up. any enlightenment would be
appreciated.
