Dave,

I agree with Randall about hoping someone stashed the info away. A quick
scan of McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com/) shows several 9/16 dies.
They have
9/16 x 16, 20, 24, 27, 32 NS (National Special)
and
9/16 x 16, 20, 24, 27, 32 NEF (National Extra Fine)

Cost about $43

Maybe someone knows which die is the correct one.
Good Luck
Robert

Dave, we thrashed this over some time ago, and I unfortunately don't
remember offhand exactly what the result was. It was a non-standard thread,
might possibly have been 9/16-32 but I could well be wrong on that point.
Hopefully someone else has stashed the info away.

One good source of non-standard taps and dies is
http://www.rutlandtool.com/

They don't have their catalog on-line, but you can call and ask if they have
the die you need (once you know what it is). Also ask for their free
catalog (which is the size of an LA phone book !)
