I didnt get any answers as to whether or not a GT6 starter would work on a TR6
engine.
But it doesnt matter now anyway. I picked up a working TR6 starter from a
good friend this past weekend.
I mean to use this starter motor to spin an engine sitting on my garage floor (
well supported from below and above with blocks and an engine hoist too) so I
can see what sort of compression it has.
I decided to put a dial indicator on the fan extension and pull it back and
forth.
I measured .016 of free play.
How bad is this?
How much of a job is it to fix it?
Any been there done that experiences appreciated.
Thanks
