Only someone who's actually worked on a Series 3 Jaguar XJ6 can
appreciate this. The roof structure is the weakest part of the car, and
even it's tough compared to an ordinary car of the era.
The Jag is double skined throughout, making it both extremely heavy, and
extremely tough. If the truck hadn't landed on top of it, chances are
you would only have suffered impact injuries.
I've often said that a series 3 XJ^ would take hits no other car could.
Looks like you've had the unfortunate chance to prove it. I'm relieved
to hear that you faired as well as you did, and sorry you had to go
through it at all.
