I did the same thing with my old top on the TR4. I use it for the long
highway drives to car shows in the Summer. It cuts down the interstate noise
a bit too.
I used an xacto knife to cut out the plastic windows. I was worried that the
top would sit properly on the fram without the stabilizing affect of the
windows. The top stays in place just fine and does not flap or buzz.
