I have a 72 TR6. Back in 1988, I discovered that refusing to stop was not an
effective way to get rid of that annoying driver who was ahead of me.
Unbelievable how a low speed "meeting" completely flattened original bumper.
I was forced to replace my shiny silver pretzel. I bought a later model unit
with the rubber overrider holes installed. At the time, money for original
new part was not to be found. I found a 74+ unit from an unfortunate who
discovered that stopping was not effective way of getting rid of annoying
tailgater behind him. I even got some overriders. I used to have the bunch
sort of wired on. You could still seee the turn signal lights over the
overriders, so the look was fine. Wife loves them. I don't but uncertain
about wisdom of driving with bare metal bumpers in a city of terrible
drivers. I have all 4 overriders and am thinking about installing the set to
see the look again. My rear bumper is a 72 original. Do I just have to
change the centre bar, or is it more complex than that. Do I even have to
change the centre bar?
