Listers - thanks for the feedback and ideas on getting these bushings in
place. The boiling water didnt work out to well. What did work was to cut a
V shaped notch on the thin side of the bushing and start one side of the notch
on to lip of the firewall hole. Then with a large headed screwdriver pushed
into the hole in the bushing I was able to screw the bushing into place.
After doing this however I was unable to get the throttle shaft thru the hole
in the bushing because it was too long to line up properly - thus I had to
take the near driver bushing back out and feed the shaft thru first and then
slip the bushing over the shaft and ultimately into the firewall hole using
the same "screw in" approach.
(FYI - the engine was out of the car so I had excellent access)
