Martin, it isn't the horsepower that tears up the transmission it is the
torque. The trick to getting 160 HP out of a two litre engine is to run
the revs up. 160 HP at 6,500 revs works out to be 130 Lb-Ft of torque
which is still less than a stock TR6 motor which is rated at 105 HP (US
trim).
All the wise money says stay 2.0 and work from there.
