Not to belabor the point, but what kills trannys is not horsepower per
se, but torque. Even a 160hp 2.0 probably still doesn't develop as much
torque as a stock 2.5; it just does it at a higher rpm. Driving style
can also have a lot to do with it, "winding it up and dumping the
clutch" can put tremendous shock loads on the drivetrain. Aluminum
flywheels and such also help tranny life, for the same reason.
