Various Standards and Triumphs of the period (Vanguards, Ensigns, 10s,
Heralds, etc.) were painted a color called -- wait for it -- Coffee in the
late 1950s and early 1960s. I think I can round up and send you a picture of
a Coffee Herald to give you some idea. Anyway, I suppose it's possible that a
very few TRs were painted in this color as an experiment or by special order.
The color is somewhat of an acquired taste. But then it can't be any worse
than your typical green TR3A, rumored to be one of only five or so with the
Targo Purple interior, that resides with a member of my local VTR Chapter!
(And yes, he restored it to the original colors inside and out!)
