My suggestion is; don't try to install the clips first. Get the outer seal
in place and then install the clips one at a time over the seal and the door
lip at the same time. You will need to hold the seal in place at the postion
of each clip to keep the seal from riding up as you force the clip over it.
If you have purchased or made a clip installation tool it should work on
both the inner fuzzy seal and the outer. Follow the same procedure for both.
I've followed this procedure uncountable times in the 27 years I've owned my
TR-6 and it now takes me only minutes to complete this once daunting job.

Subject: Outer Window Seal
While trying to install the outer window seals, I've been unsuccessful in
keeping the seal in the clips. I installed the clips with the glass out and
then tried to fit the rubber strip in place. Lining up the indentations on
the seal (there are 7), the clips do not hold tight enough. As soon as the
window is cranked up, the seal pops out. I have not yet tried to install
the
inner chrome/fuzzy seal, but I do have the "custom" tool for that. Has
anyone
experienced similiar problem? Any solutions? I've even tried to pinch the
clip over the seal, but the result has been that the rubber has split.
