On that same note, the last time I had a similar problem (just a few days
ago), it turned out that the screw for the ground connection from the Crane
module was loose ...
If you're running points, check the wires inside the dizzy cap for
continuity. Both the lead to the points, and the ground strap for the point
plate, have been known to break internally (from the constant flexing as the
vacuum advance moves) but look perfectly fine on the outside.
