The easiest way to differentiate between the two OD's is the location of the operating solinoid. If it is on the left side, and placed vertically, such that the operating part lifts a lever on the left side, then it is a "J" type; if the solinoid is horizontal and the operating rod goes into the OD and you cannot see the lever, then it is an "A" type. The "J" type is larger around than the "A" type, but you need to see then side-by-side to observe this. Cheers...
