Susan,

If you say all is well when it is cold you would expect that something is
changing with the heat of operation.  I don't think the metal parts would
change appreciably, but I might suspect the clutch slave cylinder hose could
soften and "absorb" some of the fluid robbing you of full travel on the clutch
release arm. Perhaps someone will confirm this.
