Hi, I have just received a rebuild gearbox for my TR5 and since this car isn't done so far, I decided to put it in my TR3A I had to face the problem, that the gearbox is about 1" longer than the original one. That effects that the silent rubbers carrying the engine are a bit squeezed as well as the rubber under the rear end of the gearbox. Want to say, it doesn't fit as smoothly as it fitted into my TR6. The original starter motor didn't make any problems. Regards, Bernd |
