South Africa is a long way away, yes. But, I wish to remind all that
despite the fact that this list originates in the US, it is not the

This list is a world resource, not a club with national boundaries.
And shame on those who think otherwise.

I couldn't agree more. But there's a lot more to the international
perspective - and this list, good though it is, only addresses a
relatively small proportion of the global Standard Triumph cyber
brotherhood. It certainly tends to focus on only a limited number of
all the models that were made and the sports cars were by no means the
be all and end all of new vehicle output.
I doubt this will ever change because enthusiasts tend to devolve into
groups of like cars, presumably because they may derive a comfort
factor thereby? While there is nothing wrong with any of that in
principle, it fragments an enthusiast base and I am not convinced this
is a good thing.. Within the UK and AFAIK we have only one Triumph
club which caters for all models with several others specialising in
whatever preference they have. With a total membership of all UK
Triumph clubs of some 35,000 - there is certainly not a small
following. That said, they have their own events, their own magazines
and their own national days/weekends.
But they don't seem to get together all that often - and I frequently
wonder why.
Essentially, that's why I don't belong to any Triumph club because I
don't want to be involved with "just Herald and derivatives" or "just
big saloons" or "just FWD's and Dollys."
If they all came together and found ways to happily co-exist, I'd be
close to the front of the queue to sign up for membership. Until then,
I'll lurk on the fringes with many of my former colleagues who are of
a very similar view.
