Listers, Having replaced the dash pad it is now time to put the windshield
frame back on the TR-4. The original seal between the windshield frame and the
cowl is being replaced with a new seal. After two failed attempts to convince
the seal to stay on the frame while the bottom edges are being spread outward
on the cowl, it seems clear that one must use an adhesive to glue the seal on
the frame. What adhesive should be used? Assuming that the seal will stay
on the frame once it is glued how with two or even four hands does one lower
the windshield frame and spread the front and rear portions of the bottom of
the seal. Is there a tool or device to help do this job? I am also assuming
that sealant cannot be applied until the seal has been spread to its final
position. Is there a tool which will lift the seal without ripping it?
